Meet July Garrett

July grew up in North Carolina and received her Mathematics Education degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She later pursued her Master’s Degree in Operations Research from North Carolina State University.  She has lived in Northern Virginia for the past 15 years and currently lives in Vienna with her daughter Caroline. 

   

As a military brat, July grew up traveling!  Her most memorable and enjoyable duty station was Iwakuni, Japan.  In college, she studied abroad in Taxco, Mexico and later spent spring break in Cancun.  Other travel destinations include London, Dover, Bath, Rome, Venice, Florence, Costa Rica, Punta Cana, Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orlando and Miami.   

 

 

Five years ago, she painstakingly researched and planned her first Disney World vacation for her family and it turned out to be the most magical and rewarding experience ever!  She still remembers Caroline’s sheer joy and exuberance the first time she saw Cinderella Castle and even shed a tear when Caroline was transformed into a princess at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.  July and her family have been hooked on Disney since then!  They have traveled to Disney World six times and Disneyland two times in the past five years.  Her favorite dining experience was having dinner at California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort to watch the fireworks the night before going to Magic Kingdom.  Her favorite resort stays were Club Level at Disney’s Grand Floridian and Disney’s Coronado Springs.  She also really enjoyed the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim.  She has attended Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.  July also took a bucket list trip to Yellowstone National Park through Adventures by Disney.  Staying at a dude ranch, going white water rafting, horseback riding, fly fishing and seeing all the wonders of Yellowstone, including Old Faithful, was truly the trip of a lifetime!   

 

 

Cruising may be considered one of July’s addictions.  She has been on five cruises and has her next three scheduled in 2021!  She has traveled on each of the Disney Cruise Ships: Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.  She has gone on several cruises to the Bahamas and the Caribbean, but her favorite cruise was the Disney Alaska Cruise in 2019.  July really enjoyed the holiday and themed cruises, enjoying both a Christmas Cruise and a Caribbean Cruise with a Marvel Day at Sea.  The next three cruises she has planned for 2021 include a Caribbean Cruise with a Star Wars Day at Sea, Mediterranean with Greek Isles Cruise, and a Halloween on the High Seas Bahamian Cruise. 

 

 

July has worked as a government contractor for 19 years, providing technical analysis for various operational assessment efforts.  Prior to that, she was a high school math teacher and proudly taught AP Calculus and Advanced Mathematics. 

 

 

July is highly analytic and detail oriented and approaches planning each client’s vacation as if it were her own, taking the needs and desires of the whole family into consideration and suggesting experiences to keep everyone involved and entertained.  Using a travel specialist can be satisfying for everyone involved!
